World Sight Day 2025
This World Sight Day, Martyn Kemp Opticians is proud to raise awareness about the importance of eye health and regular eye exams. Using advanced diagnostic technologies, we’re committed to providing thorough and accurate eye care, helping you protect your vision now and for the future.

The 9th of October marks World Sight Day, a global day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of good eye health. At Martyn Kemp Opticians, we’re proud to support this initiative and help our local communities keep their vision in focus.
Why World Sight Day matters
Over 2.2 billion people around the world are living with some form of visual impairment, and in at least one billion cases, this could have been prevented or is yet to be addressed. World sight day reminds us that eyecare is a necessity and routine eye exams are key for maintaining healthy vision.
#LoveYourEyes this October
As part of World Sight Day 2025, the #LoveYourEyes campaign encourages everyone to take proactive steps to care for their eyes and protect their vision. There remains a lack of understanding of the vital importance of eye health and its direct impact on wider social and economic issues. The Love Your Eyes campaign educates the public, governments, and world leaders to help raise the profile of the issue.
Caring for your eyes at Martyn Kemp
At Martyn Kemp, we offer a range of services to suit each of our patients, using the latest technology to give you a thorough, accurate eye exam.
Retinal screening:
Our Fundus imaging technology is able to show a picture of the retina, the retinal blood vessels, and the optic nerve head.
With retinal screening we can:
● Discover any abnormalities such as drusen, scar tissue, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.
● Curate a visual timeline of your eye health.
● Easily monitor your eye health.
Optical Coherence Tomography:
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an advanced eye scan that uses light to photograph the different layers that make up the structures at the front and back of the eye, creating a 3D image of the eye.
With OCT we can:
● Instantly identify early diagnosis of a number of common ocular conditions.
● Monitor changes over time.
