Brand Spotlight - Gucci

At our Herries Road branch we are excited to announce that we have added Gucci eyewear to our collection of brands!

Gucci was founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci, and is renowned for reinventing a modern approach to fashion, creating products that represent the height of Italian craftmanship known for attention to detail and quality. In 2015 Alessandro Michele was appointed creative director of Gucci and introduced ‘a different Gucci’ with sophisticated and androgynous designs. He revived the classic double G logo, feminised menswear and introduced a strong ‘geek-chic’ style.

Gucci’s current eyewear collection is inspired by vintage eras, with elaborate shapes and decorations, and bright colours representative of 70’s and 80’s style eyewear. Made from a variety of metals and acetates, the sunglasses and optical frames are designed to make a bold statement.

Gucci have also updated their temple for this year, paying tribute to its equestrian heritage with a Horse bit detail featured on each side. In the beginning, Gucci’s main business was making saddles and other accessories for horse riders made from the finest Italian leather.
